Raised in the cold northeast part of China, the
elk cannot live in zoos south of the Yangtse River.
But it lives quite well in Jinan, whose summer is
unbearably hot.

Monkey: In 1992, a couple of Sichuan golden monkeys
were introduced into the zoo. Reproduction was successful.
Jinan Zoological Park has become one of the few
